01 / Google profile & website
Does your Google profile match your website?
Treat a change as unfinished until both places agree. A corrected website does not help someone who acts on an old detail in your Google profile. Keep one change request open while you check the whole route.
Compare the details side by side
Open the profile and the website together. Check the regular hours, holiday notes and phone number against your actual details. For a business customers visit, check the address too.
Follow the website and appointment links from the profile. Confirm that they land on the intended pages. A restaurant’s corrected opening hours need to be reflected wherever a diner checks before visiting.
Describe the same services in both places
Read the business category and service names in the profile. Compare them with the website’s main offer. The website can provide more detail, but someone arriving from the profile should recognize the service they chose.
Use names customers understand. Check that any service-area information agrees with where you actually work. If an offer has ended, include both surfaces in the request to remove it.
Show what a customer will find now
Check whether exterior photographs still help a visitor identify the business. Review pictures of food, products or completed work for anything that no longer represents the offer.
Choose current photographs with a clear purpose. A useful picture might show the entrance or the kind of job you handle. Keep the original files so the person updating either surface can use the same approved material.
Close the request after both checks
When hours, services or photographs change, list where each update belongs. Assign someone to check the website and someone to check the profile. This can be the same person, but both checks should be explicit.
The owner handles Google approval or verification steps that need owner access. Record a pending change as pending. Revisit it before marking the request complete, then repeat the comparison when the next business detail changes.
