01 / Outdated website

Is your website out of date?

Check for wrong answers before old-fashioned styling. A current-looking page can still send someone to a service you stopped offering. Use the decisions customers make from the site to decide what needs attention first.

Find the information that no longer holds

Compare your current operation with the published pages. Check hours, menus and service descriptions. Read any pricing notes. Confirm that the people, photographs and contact details still belong on the site.

For a restaurant, start with the menu a customer can actually open from the homepage. Check linked files as well as page text. Mark inaccurate information for correction even if you are also planning a larger redesign.

Check what a phone user has to work around

Try reading a service page without zooming. Open the navigation and tap the main action. Check that controls have enough space around them and that a map or menu does not extend beyond the screen.

Fill in the inquiry form on the phone. If it fails, note the field and the step where you got stuck. These are concrete repair requests. The age of the design does not tell you whether the route works today.

Compare the appearance with the real business

Look for photographs that no longer show what a customer will find. Replace generic imagery with useful current pictures where you have them. Check whether the layout gives those pictures and the service information room to be understood.

Read the reviews or other evidence on the page. Keep only material you can verify. Distinguish a style you no longer like from a presentation that misrepresents your work; describe the mismatch when asking for help.

Follow every important contact route

Find the phone number from the first page a customer is likely to see. Tap it and check the number it opens. Follow the booking or ordering link all the way to the service it uses. Check that the address is correct.

Send a clearly labelled test inquiry and confirm it arrives. Open links to important pages to catch missing destinations. If these paths work and the structure is usable, focused updates may be enough. Save a rebuild discussion for the problems those edits cannot resolve.

Let’s make your website earn its keep.
